EP 41 - Blog Image

I've been doing the Confident Live Marketing Show for over 40 episodes, so it's time to take stock and chat about how things have been going. I've had loads of amazing guests on the show, so a solo episode is well overdue!

In this solo episode, I'm talking about...

  • The ups and downs of doing these live shows and the podcast
  • My year of growth, and I've just had a session with a life coach
  • I've been re-working the different ways people can work with me
  • The pros and cons of offering "power hours."
  • Tool alert! SendCalendar, Sendtric & MorningFame
  • YouTube - just reached over 1,000 subscribers. Now I've got Posts. But still no mobile live, monetisation and no superchat

The ups and downs of doing these live shows and the podcast

  • I’ve really enjoyed having fun and creating it.
  • It’s allowed me to develop a fantastic live video show process in Asana with my VA. I’m thinking of selling this. What do you think?
  • This allowed me to be consistent and create valuable regular content.
  • Brought in some money for sponsorship – which I am investing back into the show.
  • Chat with fab guests, learn more (get free consultations), and build and grow relationships.
  • Each episode has taken much longer than I thought. Less than the original podcast but still a lot.
  • At the moment I am editing each podcast. I tried Descript but not perfect.
  • I’ve got so many guests that I want to bring in but just haven’t had the time.
  • I’ve been scared about bringing in some big names – even though many are friends.
  • I knew it was going to take a long time with the podcast but the numbers aren’t as high as I would have liked.

My year of growth, and I’ve just had a session with a life coach

  • Last year was my year of visibility. I spoke all over the world and did loads of appearances.
  • This year is my year of business and personal growth.
  • That’s meant rebuilding a lot of stuff – being consistent and taking a proper look at myself
  • For a solo entrepreneur – it’s important to have a whole approach and a holistic approach. I want to grow as an entrepreneur, a father, husband and friend. I want to improve health-wise, gain more clarity, grow in my faith and become wiser
  • I’m looking at my health. 18 months ago I got a personal trainer. Over 3 years ago I cut out sugar. But as a veggie, I want to check my B12, Iron, etc.
  • I had a session with a life coach on Friday which was amazing. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a while – but it has to be the right fit. Looking at the holistic approach. I want to procrastinate less.

I’ve been re-working the different ways people can work with me

The pros and cons of offering “power hours”

  • They’re a quick way of picking your brain and being paid for it.
  • Do you offer power hours?
  • I do. I love them. I love helping people. Although it’s not my main focus.
  • I’ve been working on my services page to make it clearer – iag.me/services
  • Ken Needy says “I’ve switched to a slightly more leveraged model where when someone buys a product from us they get access to our monthly Hotline calls where they can ask questions about anything email marketing related. That way I can help more people, and also keep that time cornered”.
  • Jaz Greer mentioned the Know Like and Trust
  • Carrier Reah said “I do offer consult sessions, yes. And I have also purchased them. Thus far, the purchased time for a consult was long after not being able to find the answer myself. Sometimes it was worth it…about 50/50. I would do a consult/coaching session again with the right person”.
  • Molly Mahoney said – “I used to! But time became too much of a commodity, and I know that the deepest results come from a longer program”.

YouTube

I have just reached over 1,000 subscribers and have received the new community feature with posts. But still no mobile live, monetisation and no superchat. 🙁

  • I want to focus a lot more on YouTube. I am going live to YouTube on every show (as well as LinkedIn Live, Facebook and Pericope)
  • Been able to get over 1,000 subscribers.
  • Want to subscribe? I am at YouTube.com/ianandersongray
  • I wanted to get monetization and superchat. But then I realised you need 10,000 subscribers for Superchat. For monetization, you need 1,000 subscribers AND 4,000 watch hours.
  • But I now have the community and posts feature, which is cool.
  • For super chat and stories, you need 10,000 subscribers
  • I still can’t stream live from my phone, which is weird.
