What’s Stopping you go Live?
The Free Range Social Show
In this week’s show, we shared the top barriers people have that stop them going live – and what to do to break through them!

What’s stopping you?
Does the idea of broadcasting live video scare you?
Maybe something else is stopping you?
Maybe you just don’t want to go live. That’s ok too – live video isn’t for everyone.
But maybe you really do want to or know that it is a powerful way to reach your audience? What should you do?

Join Julia and Ian in the replay as they describe the top reasons people give, are honest about their experiences and share the ways you can go live confidently and consistently.

We went Live Monday, June 4th at:
1pm (European Time)
2pm (UK & Ireland)
9am (Eastern US/Canada)
8am (Central US)

Upload speeds are more important than the gear you use!!

Ian I watched your masterclass in YouPreneur – your tips were super helpful!

Really important to not compare ourselves to people who have done it for years.

When you first start live broadcasting, don’t allow lack of audience to stop you either, be consistent and persistent and it will come together!!

Good points Julia & Ian you’ve inspired me to be a bit more energetic today!

Mark Orr I love your live videos!

Julia I did a challenge with Madalyn Sklar – it was so good. I even ended up recording videos in a private Facebook group – with hair which needed to be dried. Once I had done that – it was easier going Live the next time when I had a bit of lipstick on.

It is great to have someone to play off for sure. It is also a great pointer for getting started, if you don’t feel that you have the personality or charisma, bring on a guest and play off their energy

I had Cathy Wassell for a while as accountability partner – it so helped with getting started

We do a live show cooking every week, and 2 or 3 times we forgot to turn on our LED lights. The producer of the show was PO’d and was so sorry that he forgot. But no one cared, or even noticed

It’s much easier to be authentic on live video, which always trumps perfectionism

Nicole Osborne

love it – embrace imperfection πŸ’ͺπŸ€Έβ€β™€οΈπŸ‘Š

I do however find live video easier than creating pre-recorded videos!!!

Nicole Osborne

Mark being a marketing consultant, I felt the same, that I had to be perfect straight away. But I then opened up about being on a video learning journey – and that made a difference

I hated reading out aloud in school, and thought doing a video is the same

I think YOU as the producer of the live stream cares way more about the quality and look than your viewers. The more we do it the more picky we get, but the audience isn’t as judgemental as long as you have good content

Mark Orr

Coming from a video production background, it’s been hard to not be perfect with my live videos!!

Nicole Osborne
Guest

Ian I agree, people relate better to ‘non-perfect’

Nicole Osborne

And fear of being judged as Julia says

Mark Orr

Content ideas were always my barrier

Nicole Osborne
Guest

getting started – that’s so true – I felt I had to aim for a Hollywood style production – so delayed getting started

Nicole Osborne
Guest

do it a lot and know why you are so scarred

danke
