Does Twitter Really Work?
It’s what Julia and Ian discussed in this week’s Free Range Social Show
We were LIVE on Monday, May 21

Do you use Twitter to market your business? Do you use it personally? Or do you just not use it at all?
Maybe, it’s just one social network too many?!

What are the best strategies for Twitter and how can you actually get results?

We’d love to know what you think… so pop your thoughts in your comments.
Also, maybe you have some questions?

I’m a Prince fan so I keep my follower list to 1,999. If I follow someone new, I unfollow someone else 😉

Well at least you won’t have to worry about the Millennium bug 🙄

YES! Use the tools to supplement activity, not completely replace.

Yeah – I burned my Twitter down about a year ago and unfollowed a TON of accounts.

I culled mine by over 50%. You forget how many expired/unused accounts you are be following and serve no purpose to anyone

No kidding. But I also re-discovered some truly fabulous humans – so that made me happy.

Lisa D. Jenkins You do discover the nuggets of gold in the dessert of dust. I know Lucy Hall un-followed everyone on twitter and started again. It inspired me to write https://blog.digitalalchemist.live/social-media-bubble-burst/

Exactly.

If you are seeing too much noise you can always un-follow people.

Did anyone join a social platform so they could be sold to?

Quote of the week right there!

Robert C Stern

There is only 1 unilateral approach to all the platforms – Must be social. Otherwise the strategies can differ

Lisa D. Jenkins

Cookie-cutter approaches to social media rarely, if ever work.

Trevor Lorkings

Maybe a social platform is only as good as the people being social on it.

Twitter became unwieldy for me – too much noise and no conversation. My favorite thing about Twitter was the connection and conversation – something I lost somewhere along the way. But I want it back, so I dipped my toe back in today with two tweets full of nonsense. It’s going to be more about socializing and relationships for me and less about marketing.

It could be said that relationships are marketing ….
